TFIOS Review

Today, June 6, 2014, I saw The Fault in Our Stars at the movie theatre. I'm usually a bit leery when it comes to books being made into movies, BUT this was one of the best adaptations I have ever seen. I read the book a few months ago, and it only took me about 4 hours at the most to read it (I tend to read very fast, oops). Of course, I thought it was a fantastic book, and I cried a good cry while reading it. I wouldn't classify myself as a hopeless romantic, but when it comes to a story that seems so true, I am. From the beginning of the movie, to the end, I had tears in my eyes. The young actors, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Nat Wolff were fantastic. They made the story so believable. Elgort portrayed Augustus Waters, and I have fallen in love. Through the laughter, tears, and everything in between, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I've been planning to see it at the movies for awhile now, with a few friends, and that is exactly what I did. I had known that I was going to cry (more like bawl) since I cried so much whilst reading the book. We arrived at the theatre, and I was mentally preparing myself for it. By the opening scene of this movie, I already had tears in my eyes. I suppose when it comes to movies and books, I find myself with an emotional connection to the characters. For most of the two and a half hours, I had tears in my eyes. I watched a beautiful relationship unfold, with its ups and downs, and all around perfectness.

John Green, Josh Boone, Scott Neustadter, and Michael H. Weber did a wonderful job on this story. You made me cry like a baby, in a good way. Just writing about this makes me want to watch it again, and cry and laugh all over again. If you are thinking about seeing this movie, I highly recommend it. It is a feel good movie, telling the story of two teens, fighting to survive and learning to love. This is the love story of the century.
